PENCH NATIONAL PARK

Pench National park, settling in the lower southern ranges of the satpuda slopes is named after Pench stream, wandering through the park from north to south. It is found on the southern limit of Madhya Pradesh, bordering Maharashtra, in the locale of Seoni and Chhindwara.

The undulating territory of Pench is secured with little slopes and generally loaded taek and blended timberland. The fundamental vegetation being Teak (Tectona grandis) , Saja (Terminalia tomentosa), Bija (Pterocarpus marsupium), Lendia, Haldu, Dhaora, Aonla, Amaltas and so forth. The ground is secured with various grasses, shrubberies, herbs & bushes. Stunning white Kullu trees scattered around separately in the woods is prominent among different tones of green. The old estates of Teak & Bamboo include methodical vistas in the generally general wild.

The stream of Pench waterway stops in December, what remains are a couple of grand and quiet pools in the waterway bunk. There are a couple of lasting springs and tanks. At the southern limit of park, the Pench stream has been dammed for Pench hydroelectic undertaking at Totladoh. At the greatest limit the repository submerges 54 sq kms of the park range. This had been the loss of best valley woodland, which was once alluded by Sir Rudyard Kipling in his book named "Wilderness Book". This huge store of Pench with sporadic islands pull in various winter flying creatures from north.

A visit to Jungle never disappoints, as I love to watch every single plant, animal, bird, butterfly etc.  If  I am able to spot a Tiger it is a bonus for me, but in anticipation of Tiger I never miss the other bounties of jungle that surround us.  And as I mentioned in my earlier post about Pench Tiger Reserve, we did see a tigress in this visit.   Some of the other animals and birds spotted during the visit were Sambhar Monitor Lizards Indian Grey Hornbill Porcupine Indian Pea Fowl Jungle Fowl Open Bill Stork - See more at: www.guptatravelsjabalpur.com
